Meet Tumiso Rakgare , a 35-year old
Botswana's Minister of Youth Empowerment, Sports and Culture,
Tumiso Rakgare is 35 years old.

BELOW IS HIS IMPACTS IN THE MINISTRY BROUGHT TO YOU BY "AFRICAN REPORT FILES" IN THE JUST CONCLUDED TOKYO OLYMPICS .
-Athletes received all due care while in camp, and their usual daily allowances. During COVID -19 disruptions to team camps when the team had to disband temporarily and return to their homes, they continued to receive daily local camping allowances amounting to P 7,500.00 per athlete. An additional food hamper valued at P 2,200 was given to each athlete (thus P9 700.00 spent per athlete).
---Immediately upon qualifying for the Olympics, each athlete received a monthly allowance of P 8,333.00 for welfare and upkeep. Furthermore, all athletes who qualified for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games were rewarded with P 25,000.00 and the coaches P 10,000.00 each. Similar incentives have been offered to the Women's National Football Team (P250 000) and the Men's National Team (P650 000).
-- In the spirit of continuing to improve the welfare of the team, the daily camping allowances were increased from US$ 40/ P400 to US$ 60/ P600 for the competition stage in Tokyo. In addition, each athlete was paid P 2,000.00 per appearance for Athletics and Boxing, P 1,500.00 for Judo, Swimming and Weightlifting in accordance with the Incentives and Rewards Policy.
-- During this challenging time, the health and safety of the team was also paramount. Hence Government took a deliberate decision to prioritise the team for COVID-19 vaccination with a preferred vaccine prior to departure for Japan.
-He started out as a Sports Broadcaster on Yarona FM. He is also the MP representing Mogoditshane constituency of the country.
