Kampala central Member of Parliament Muhammad Nsereko is not close to seizing fire on issues concerning the arrest of anti-government blogger Fred Kajubi Lumbuye who was arrested in Turkey.
Nsereko has come out and threatened to do what he can to any Member of Parliament who will intend to bring Lumbuye's issue on the floor of the Parliament.
"I am ready to challenge any Member of Parliament raising this goon (Lumbuye) at the floor of parliament as a human rights activist, we shall go for a debate and i will present all the videos of this goon and we see whether he qualifies to be a human rights activist" Nsereko said.
He also added that this is the time to teach whoever uses social media to insult other people as he warned that if anyone tries to insult him, he or she must get ready to pay 200 million or even lose properties.
"It should become a law that if you insult me you pay, if you fail then we attach your properties, if you post someone's photo without authority you pay" Nsereko added on.
Lumbuye, whose content is mostly in the Luganda language, is linked to igniting speculation in June about President Yoweri Museveni's health, the Kabaka of Buganda and the First Son Lt Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba.
President Museveni subsequently issued a directive for the arrest of people who use social media to publish misinformation and fake news.
Last week, Ugandan government officials said that the blogger, who is popular on Facebook, had been arrested and would be extradited home to face charges.
In one of his videos, he gave his followers tips on how to make petrol bombs to throw at the security forces trying to enforce law and order.
He has also previously alleged in his tweets that the media had been paid "to promote Covid-19".
