{UAH} NORWEGIAN RESPONDS TO UGANDANS CONCERNED ABOUT NORWAYS VACCINE DONATION: "USE THE VACCINE. ITS SAFE!"

Picture (attached): Ugandans are concerned that Norway is "dumping" its Astrazeneca vaccines to poor countries as donations, yet it had stopped using this particular vaccine on its own citizens.

Fellow Citizens, Ladies & Gentlemen.
I think it is important that I share with you any important information of public interest.
I just had a great discussion with Mme. Ashild Braaten regarding the concerns that many Ugandans have raised about the Norwegian donation of Astra Zeneca Vaccines to the country last week. She is a good friend since our school days, works with the International Red Cross in Halden, Norway and has knowledge on Norwegian humanitarian aid/vaccine donations to Africa and other developing regions around the world which have very few vaccines or none at all.
She was quite straight forward, as most Norwegians I know always are, and says:
"When Covid-19 vaccine production started last year, Norway ordered a lot of AztraZenica. The first Norwegians who got vaccinated were many young people in the hospitals, an attempt to help people who had already got Covid. At the same time Norway vaccinated its older citizens because of the known vulnerability that age group had to the disease. As was reported publicly by the Norwegian government, what happened was that 3 young girls (ca 18-20 years old) got blood clots after taking the AstraZeneca vaccine. So Norwegian doctors and scientists started researching why. The older people had no problem. What they found was a very rare connection between the AztraZenica and blood clots (only 0.008% chance for a person to develop blood clots). Since Norway also had a lot of Pfizer and Moderna vaccines, we just stopped vaccinating with the AstraZeneca vaccine, and continued the vaccination program with the other two. But most western countries use AztraZenica. For instance, United Kingdom (which only uses this vaccine), Spain and USA and all çountries around the world use it because the risk for getting the blood clots is extremely low. So my brother you are safe with this vaccine." Ashild told me.
"It's just Norway that stopped. We are just 5 million people here, and had all these different vaccines. From the very beginning, the Norwegian government ensured that the country had options. So, if you are not vaccinated yet, go for the AztraZenica. The A-Z vaccine we sent you is really for helping Uganda. Not that we dumped it on you, I was suddenly scared we did. But Norway would never do that. Norway has a high moral on helping out where we can, and will never happily put people in risk of death. It would have been completely heartless, cruel and immoral to just throw away our AstraZeneca stock and/or let them expire when people are dying from COVID-19 around the world, and entire poor regions are desperate for any vaccine they can get at this critical time when not much is available for everyone. There is no corruption in Norway, and our government is our friend. Not many people, even in Europe, can say the same about their governments. To get covid is terrible and millions have died around the world, so please get your two vaccines shots (first one and the second one some weeks later). I want to stress that while every single death is regrettable, in Norway we have 'just' 145 people who have died of Covid-19 ever since February 2020 when the pandemic reached here, and there are so many conspiracy theories out there against vaccines. Please don't let Ugandans go there. It's much better and safer to get vaccinated. I hope Ugandans understand this. And thank you Hussein for asking."

(For any queries, local media can contact Mme. Ashild Braaten for an interview on this important matter via her social media profile so as to address disinformation about the Norway vaccine donations)
