{UAH} Of Afghanistan and Karamoja
Here we go
-- Both are arid regions well-endowed with mineral wealth. Both are complete with gun-wielding natives defending their faiths in Allah and cattle, respectively. They have similar trademarks. The Taliban fro Afghans and Ngi'Karachuna fro K'jongs - both never people to goof around with.
Driving on a road paralleling Ottawa McDonald Cartier International Airport in Ottawa yesterday I thought I saw a familiar object that I had only seen on videos and magazines
It was a huge passenger aircraft with a familiar sexy sounding name but veiled with terror and blood parked close to the fence behind which I was driving like alone like a hijacked plane.
Ariana
Instantly my mind began to wonder which country the airline belonged to. Afghanistan, I thought but needed to prove my observation correct. At a gas station where I stopped to refill, I quickly googled Ariana on my cellphone
I was correct. Ariana is the national airline of Afghanistan. Will this plane ever leave its airport parking sport?
Then a few minutes ago I read a news article online that Canada will IMPORT 40,000 Afghans - meaning all are either in the country now or some of them flown in this plane. No more a surprise to me bcos near me has been an Afghan restaurant where I enjoy nothing but lamb.
Karamoja, land of the Ngi'Mojong is not to blame for its underdevelopment and primitive lifestyle. Its Uganda leaders to blame. Bad thing is that we all know the natural wealth in Karamoja but choose to condemn the region un-userfriendly and obstinate to development
Ok. Let's put aside its mineral wealth bcos in my primary school days there were what I later came to know as mineral prospectors who pitched camps in my school ground only to disappear every down returning in the wee hrs of the evenings
One such group whose name I dint know but curved its local reference was one called the Diamonds. This sneaky lot also doubled as borehole drillers to mask their real agenda from natives.
Was a little but nosy inquisitive smart kid with a drooling mouth with a constant flow of snot that I recycled effectively with the help of my swift tongue.
We all did it.
Happens that this gropu was prospecting Diamonds. Whenever they went no locals were allowed but hunters would later return to tell of the vehicle tire prints seen way yonder valleys and hills
Then one day a bunch of us little rascals decided to venture far deep into areas we had never gone to bird hunting
We found mounds of rocks in an area which we concluded were human creations by the Diamond people
DIamond? Shining stones that never bothered locals
Anyway, what I want to say about good'ol Karamoja isnt the above. Its potentials for hosting Africa's or the world's largest solar energy project ever seen by mankind is what nobody has ever considered.
Consider this. The entire expanse of land between Moroto and Kotido is uninhabited. Same area has uranium plus every mineral one can name
Well, I shouldn't say uninhabited. Lets say its owners are conflicting Animals of all types except amphibians
The Moroto-Kotido road is a road you would have to cling on to your rosary or bible or Qu'ran praying your vehicle doesn't break down. That's when you will abundantly be exposed to the elements - including killer natives
Imagine farms of solar panels as far as the eyes can see reversing solar energy most probably to benefit it its origin - the Sun as the principle consumer. Unbelieble, right?
Only Jews seem to have known Karamoja hidden yet known treasures better than Wakandans who always gladly ridicule the region are worthless
Oh, by the way, here is something that many of you have never known
The typical K'jong can never comfortably pronounce Obote the way we do. For them it is Lobothe'. Obote simply doesnt sound right in K'jong speak. Same thing with Ocen which is Locen
