UNITED NATIONS AIDS REPORT RANKED MBARARA CITY SECOND.
Mbarara city ranked second in HIV-Aids infections rate following Kalangala in the first place in the whole country.
According to Michael Matsiko Zonal coordinator Uganda Aids Commission the increase is attributed to the laxity by many females refusal to use Condoms and the youth active participation in cross generational sex.
Some of the most hit areas include Kijungu,Ruti, and Rubindi as many people gather in large numbers in this areas, Eg Kijungu is a market place that attracts alot of people and temptation is quite high.
Ruti and Rubindi are both transit routes and alot of heavy tracks park in these places and that explains the increase of infections in these areas Matsiko added.
