{UAH} KILLING MOTHERS IS NOT A SOLUTION TO “FOOD SHORTAGE”
M7 is a very very lucky dude. He will Lord over Ugandans till he drops dead. And then his begotten son gets to take the mantle.
By Odongo Lango
Last week, four times presidential elections loser, and the NRM National Political Commissar, emeritus, Dr Kizza Besigye, in tow with a motley of maverick politicians like John Ken Lukyamuzi, Lord mayor Erias Lukwago of the "wii-wui wii-wui" fame, unveiled a freshly baked political "pressure" group. The new outfit named People's Front for Transition (PFT) was met with mirth and derision from all quarters. The former Northern Uganda FDC strongman, and Leader of Opposition, the insect professor, Morris Ogenga Latigo could not his hide contempt of Besigye's latest shenanigans. Speaking to the press, the former Agago MP compared Besigye's antics to "a cancer patient escaping from Mulago and going to a sorcerer's shrine for healing".
Ofwono Opondo, the sharp-tongued Director of the Government Media Center, joined the melee. Besigye, said the government spin doctor, is feeling increasingly beleaguered and irrelevant after the meteoric rise of the National Unity Platform. The Kasangati-based veteran is looking for a way to reclaim the title, "leader of opposition". The effervescent upstart, NUP, sensing the danger, of course, joined in the bashing of the son of Kifefe. NUP Secretary General, David Lewis Rubongo, in a press conference said, NUP cannot join the pressure group. Meanwhile, the Democratic Party, Uganda's most unlucky and most unsuccessful political party chimed in too with their tongue firmly in their cheek. Besigye, said DP, formed the pressure group on "flimsy grounds".
The ruling National Resistance Movement, perhaps, out of sympathy with their erstwhile ideologue, kept a decided silence. Perhaps, the ruling party sympathizes at how far in the political doldrums their former national political commissar has fallen. The man has become a political pariah.
But it is hard to sympathize with a man of Besigye's ambitions.
The Lango people of Uganda, wise in the sly nature of wicked but ambitious people, have a parable to warn against such characters.
