{UAH} Why did Bobi say that democracy works in Uganda b4 elections?
By Moses Khisa via Facebook
Brother Bobi reasoned that democracy in Uganda works: so did democracy work for him and he prevailed in defeating Museveni? I do not see any problem with FDC's position that you go into an election and work hard but knowing that the election manager is also the incumbent candidate. But anything could happen if you rally the masses around the election! That's the point of contesting the elections even when you know they'll be rigged.
Okay, let's grant that he made a legit point. But had Besigye said that he stood because he believed there was democracy in Uganda? About demonizing: I'm for scrutinizing and challenging everyone and every idea, so don't count me among those who believe there's anyone in this world who's untouchable. I've openly criticized KB even though I deeply respect him and his contributions.
The one big turn off for some of us will be trying to present Bobi Wine as a kind of messiah who is above reproach. I'm not a fan of this kind of thinking. I criticize Museveni everyday, there's no way I can treat anybody else aspiring for national leadership using a different standard.
