{UAH} DUBAI AIRSHOW MISCALCULATIONS!

The Dubai Airshow being primarily a forum for plane manufacturers, this is the plane that Uganda should be shamelessly showcasing in Dubai (see photo attached). It is manufactured in Uganda, by Ugandans. Not the Airbus A330 neo that we are currently sending to the prestigious airshow. Meanwhile, I find it actually abit dumb to claim that by displaying a Uganda Airlines Airbus at the Dubai Airshow, this will attract tourists to Uganda. Any serious entrepreneur and/or advertising specialist would surely agree that in this modern international air industry era, tourists buy a plane ticket for something they are travelling for at the destination, and usually just discover the model of the plane on the boarding pass. As I said at the beginning, the Dubai Airshow is actually a forum designed primarily for plane manufacturers to display their latest products. Not for airlines to display what they just bought from the plane manufacturers. In this light, we are doing more to advertise Airbus for free than advertise Uganda as a tourist destination. We could have instead for example just put a giant screen showcasing to the Airshow visitors our most enticing tourist attractions in Uganda, and maybe put a small stand for instant bookings and reservations underneath. The screen could also show our locally made plane if one insists on it. That would make more business sense in tourism advertising of the country than venturing into advertising Airbus which is actually none of our business. In fact Airbus should be paying us to bring their product to the Airshow. That's what we are advertising, their product, not Uganda. And we are actually telling the world that we are satisfied Airbus customers. Therefore the European company will be making more new customers, and therefore more money from our miscalculated effort...and at our expense. Yet by simply installing a giant screen showcasing Uganda's tourist attractions, we would have done ahundred times more in actually attracting tourists to Uganda, at ahundred times less the cost of flying a brand new empty passenger plane all the way to Dubai and back, with all the expensive associated costs, just for display of an Airbus product. By engaging in such frivolous miscalculations and claiming them to be a success strategy and "a game changer", I can already confirm hereby that this company is already on the roller coaster path to huge losses and ultimate collapse.
Who brought this idea, and how was it even approved?
Someone must explain to Ugandans the business rational behind this obviiusly incoherent decision. Uganda Airlines does not need a team that is completely out of touch with modern competitive business realities in the airline, tourism and/or advertising industries. If they can't show business acumen, Uganda should get people with a proven international business success record, even if that means hiring a completely new management team from overseas. That would at the least be far better than huge financial losses and collapse of this big investment because of mediocre business thinking. Meanwhile I suggest that we name this local plane "Lato".
