{UAH} KILLING SUSPECTS IS WRONG!

KILLING SUSPECTS IS WRONG!

Terrorism is bad, and I'm glad that Islam doesn't condone it. There's no justification for killing any human in this world. I hope that those who lost their loved ones a few days ago find solace in the fact that the victims were innocent.

However ,If it's true, as reported on social media that the Uganda govt is now arbitrary killing Muslim leaders again, then its making a big mistake.  We shouldn't see the bombings as simply a terrorism problem, instead of the symptom of something larger.

I suspect that the current insecurity in the country is a reaction to a blatantly unfair situation we've all contributed to one way or the other. It has now reached a point where we are all forced to pick sides even if we don't want to. People are openly generalising Muslims as terrorists, which itself, isn't true. Muslims and non- Muslims have always lived peacefully throughout Uganda, as far as I know. I'm a Muslim with a lot of non- Muslim friends whom I care for a lot. And I believe they care about me,too.

A lot of countries have been crossing these red lines in the name of fighting terrorism, and its wrong. We all fear losing what we have, and that's understandable but it's not fair to generate a society where Muslims feel persecuted in their own country. If we want to avoid such a situation, those involved in crimes should be brought to justice, instead of killing them. Laws must not be pushed aside because leaders want to show their strength, or because they can.

We can't keep looking away and only treat symptoms.  Ugandans shouldn't be forced to take sides in the fight against terrorism. If you feel that it's not OK to kill Muslim suspects,  then we should all stand up and say it. We shouldn't only say it after they have started killing another group, and believe me, it will happen if we all remain silent over it.
