ReplyDeleteExperts "Deeply Concerned" at the Rising Threat of the Involuntarily Childless Movement
(To be continued)
---
In 2004, an unnamed Kansas woman drove to Missouri, strangled a pregnant woman with a rope, then cut out her baby with a kitchen knife. She awaits trial.
In 2016, Christine Lyons, an Australian woman who was 'desperate' to have children, faced one charge of murder and one charge of attempted murder of Samantha Kelly.
In 2020, A Bowie County jury found infertile Taylor Rene Parker guilty of capital murder in the slayings of Reagan Michelle Simmons-Hancock and her baby in the same year.
This year, Lucy Letby, a British nurse, is on trial accused of the murder of seven infants. Investigators uncovered a note on Letby's person that read "I will never marry or have children of my own".
These women, driven to murder in the pursuit of motherhood, are but a few representatives of an ideology that presents a rising, yet largely ignored, threat to society: involuntarily childlessness. These 'inchils' and their ideology are the subject of an increasing body of research by counter-terrorism experts the world over.
Professor Ephraim Goldstein, head of the psychology department at the University of Tel Aviv and leading expert on inchil ideology, believes that inchil ideology is not a recent phenomenon. "History, ancient and contemporary, provides many examples of women going mad because they were unable to have the children that they erroneously believed that they were owed by life", said Goldberg. He believes that the key to preventing outbursts of inchil violence is to closely monitor spaces, such as r/infertility and r/trollingforababy, that are populated with inchil-adjacent individuals. "[His research team] have noted patterns of radicalisation within these communities that is consistent with that which is seen in other extremist ideologies, including the Free Palestine Movement", said Goldstein.
Governing bodies the world over have expressed their concern at the worrying spread of inchil ideology. The government of Luxembourg recently published a report titled Primer on the Inchil-o-Sphere. Lead researcher and head of a not-for-profit anti-hate organisation, Matthias G. Rifter, warned citizens that "It may only be a matter of time" before an act of inchil terrorism occurs on their soil.
Investigators from Interpol who are involved the Madeline McCann case have advised not to exclude inchil ideology as a possible motive in the disappearance of the child from a Portuguese holiday resort in 2007.
In the United States, which has suffered the most acts of inchil extremism, study and public awareness has intensified greatly. Bob Rowell, Lead Intelligence Officer from the Bureau of American Research and Reconnaissance on the Extremist Nulliparous, has expressed similar concerns at the increasing levels of violence attributed to the inchil movement. The father of five, who has spent the last five years infiltrating the inchil movement and has written extensively for esteemed news sources such as Vice News, said, "Infertility communities and their users are characterised by extreme jealousy and a petulant sense of entitlement to that which they believe they have been unjustly denied". He continued, "Inchil-adjacent individuals exhibit a high degree of interpersonal victimhood and what may be described in common parlance as 'main character syndrome'". "With their tendency to externalise their perceived pain, these individuals present a significant risk to pregnant mothers and their children, as well as national security as a whole", he said.
ReplyDeleteA general from the United States military, who requested that they remain anonymous, spoke of classified document that detailed the possible use of airstrikes to combat the inchil movement. "Yes, the potential for collateral damage would have been immense, but all cards were on the table when it came to discussing who we deal with this threat", said the general.
It's not just academic and governmental institutions that have expressed concern around this rising threat; Americans themselves are very aware. Local scientist and community spokesperson Yovontarius D'Marquan Brown spoke to NYT, and shared his analysis on the characteristics of the inchil movement. "Shiet, dem muhfuggin inchils dey be fukt in dey head, nahmsayin? Bitches be mad cuz dey ain got no kids, cuh", he said. "Y'all sayin y'all can busta nut in deese hoes and iain neva gon pay no child support. Shiet, sign me da fuk up, dawg...", he continued.
In place of the aforementioned military intervention, others have argued that vigilante justice is the key to combating the inchil threat.
A now-deleted reddit account by the name of ParaguayanYpsilon who moderated a partly mocking and partly watch-dog community on inchils. Speaking anonymously to NYT, fearing for his little brother and sister's safety. "After years of infiltrating the dark world of the inchil movement, [his community] have intelligence to believe that the hacker known as 4chan maybe co-ordinating inchil groups and radicalising them into committing acts of terror against kids", he said.
A user from the same community suggested that entitled infertile women could be hunted as big game, following tip-offs from seasoned vigilantes. "Their teeth could be collected and traded as an ethically sourced substitute for ivory", wrote the user.
Whatever the solution to the alarming rise in this dangerous ideology may be, society must not become complicit in the dissemination of inchil and inchil-adjacent ideas.
Your children's lives depend on it...
