{UAH} *An Open letter to Gen. Muhoozi Keinerugaba*

Dear Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba. Receive greetings from Muhimbise George.

Although these days it's a crime to disturb your peace, allow me to disturb you with facts, just for once!

Gen Muhoozi, you were recently seen chest-thumbing through a tweet that you later deleted, about the arrest of your critic Kakwenza Rukirabasiaja who allegedly used abusive language purportedly against you.

This was later confirmed by the charge sheet in which Kakwenza was accused of "disturbing your peace"!

Gen Muhoozi, I request that we go word per word in trying to analyse & contextualize Kakwenza's tweet to acertain whether he indeed abused you.

In his tweet Kakwenza said that, "imagine you steal money from the national purse & use it to bankroll idle idiots on social media to market your Presidential ambitions when you are intellectually bankrupt. These Muhoozi project fools think that we shall replace a thief with an incompetent pig headed curmudgeon"

Gen Muhoozi, if you based on this tweet to arrest or order for the arrest of Kakwenza, then you were wrong, and if you based on another statement I beg to be corrected!

Gen Muhoozi, Kakwenza's statement is addressed to someone who has allegedly stolen money from public purse, in this case, are you the thief he was referring to? Are you the one who is intellectually bankrupt as per Kakwenza's statement? I think from your accolades as a military man, you aren't intellectually bankrupt, and in any case if he refered to you, would that change who you are?

He again says that this thief has bankrolled idle idiots to market his Presidential ambitions, in this case are you confirming that indeed you have Presidential ambitions that you are marketing on social media? And if it's true isn't it treasonable for a serving officer in the UPDF to start engaging in politics before retiring from the army?

Lastly he mentioned the name Muhoozi, are you the only Muhoozi in Uganda? What if he was referring to another Muhoozi who runs a piggery or poultry project called Muhoozi project? 

Gen Muhoozi, leaving that aside, let's assume that Kakwenza was referring to you & indeed you have Presidential ambitions, is it the best way how to handle critics? Aren't you setting a bad precedent?

Most often I have seen you refer to Muzeyi Museveni as your mentor, how comes he doesn't arrest those who abuse him including making funny cartoons of him? Or did you since shift goals from Museveni as your mentor to Kagame?

If you can do this when you are seeking for power what will you do when you become President?

Assuming that Kakwenza hates you, have you tried to find out the cause of his hate? Have you engaged him on a personal level without necessarily torturing him? 

So what if there are other 1000 Kakwenza's who hate you because of their reasons, will you arrest all of them or will you swallow them so that they stop hating you?

Dear Muhoozi, as a contending President do you know how many Ugandans have sold everything to attain education only to end up with no jobs? Do they have a reason to love you?

Do you know hundreds of Ugandans who were arrested during last elections in the hands of security under your command, do they or their families have a reason to love you?

Do you know the hundreds of youths who have been hawking & are being chased from Kampala streets & have no where to go, do they have a reason to love you?

Do you know Ugandans whose small businesses have collapsed because of high cost of doing business, and the so-called stimulus package was stolen or taken by the rich, do those have a reason to love you?

What about the veterans & their children who fought to bring your dad in power but at the moment can't afford to pay fees for their own children, do they have the reason to love you?

What about young people who have been turned down on each job interview they have done only to see a few connected fresh graduates who speak "gamba nogu" language getting lucrative jobs in security & public service do they have a reason to love you?

What about soldiers, some of whom joined the forces many years before you, but are now at lower ranks far below you, do they have a reason to celebrate you?

What about the teachers in public or private schools who can't afford to pay fees for their children, or the doctors who can't afford medical care in the hospitals where they work, are they happy with you & your government?

What about the police officers  & soldiers who only read about trillions of shillings in the defence budget every year, only to perennially sleep in mama ingia pole huts, do they feel happy with you?

Finally general Muhoozi, assuming that Ugandans have no right to get angry with you, after all Gen Museveni openly said that he is not serving them but serving his children & grand children & assuming you were right to order for Kakwenza's arrest;

Was it in order to detain Kakwenza for two weeks, far beyond the mandatory forty eight hours? 

Was it within the law to delay or refuse to produce him in court immediately even after a Court order was produced?

Was it fair & just for soldiers to torture him as per his wife allegations?

Or is it the lesson you wanted to teach him?

That in Uganda there is freedom of speech but no freedom after speech?  

Is it the rule of law that Muzeyi Kaguta fought for or that you want to promote when you become President? 

Was it hard to follow the law even in pursuing your right as an aggrieved Ugandan? 

Lastly, Darl Carnegie in his book, How to win friends and influence people said that "great people show their greatness by how they treat small people"

A presidential contender of your caliber, a decorated general of a civilized army, trained in the most prestigious army academies of the world, a first son & an intellectual,  would not have used that full force to deal with "a one paragraph tweet" by a disgruntled young man!

You surely embarrassed yourself, and please don't come for me, am simply a messenger!
