{UAH} Our education system needs serious review.

Age 5= start primary 1
Age 11: finish P.L.E
Age 12: Start Senior 1
Age 15: finish O level
Age 17: complete A level

No skills taught during this 12 years of learning. I don't know whether it's still the same, but in S.1 at Kibuli S.S, we were required to do about 17 subjects, and I thought that was extreme for 12 year olds.

Age 21-23: complete a degree or diploma. Mostly theory stuff, no skills.

Age 25- 26= internships, and at this age most people are starting families, but most are graduates with no skills or income.

This means for 20 years we are subjected to theory, meaningless certificates. Surprisingly, people go for more of such certification to improve their job prospects.

Imagine if we have compulsory skills development programmes in high school where our kids are taught. That would also help to identify kids who are gifted in other areas. Not this one size fits all maths literacy and endless theory.

Imagine if we invested more in technical schools than secondary schools, or universities.

And never forget the fact that the people who are in power of this education system, put their children in international schools which don't use the same system.

Our education system needs serious review.
