{UAH} THE MAYOR OF KIEV INVITES POPE FRANCIS TO HIS CITY

Mayor Vitaly Klitschko of besieged Kiev

The Mayor of the besieged Ukrainian city of Kiev has sent an invitation to Pope Francis inviting him to travel to his city in a bid to promote more efforts and chances for peace.
In a formal letter sent to the Vatican Mayor Vitaly Klitschko affirms how the Pope's presence in Kiev would be a key to success in saving lives and in paving the way to peace for Kiev, Ukraine, and beyond. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky would also be requested to attend.
The Mayor assures the Pope that he will mind all preparations including the Pope's trip to Kiev.
In case this initiative succumbs to impossibility, then the Pope would be requested to take part in a direct TV / Radio broadcast. Vatican sources confirm that the Pope has already received this letter.
Attention is strongly focussed on the Pope due to the very many initiatives for peace he has taken since the beginning of the atrocities. He has already sent to Russia and Ukraine several important delegations headed by very knowledgeable cardinals on the situation. And today (24/03/2022) himself, jointly with retired Pope Benedict XVI, is going to consecrate both Russia and Ukraine to the Holy Immaculate Heart of Mary requesting for the end of the war and the return to peace in the region.
The war still continues as Russian planes bomb towns and important infrastructural installations while at the same time Ukraine offers a very solid resistance with the use of advanced Western arms and logistics which have caused tremendous difficulty to the Russian army and this has brought the war to a standstill in many parts of Ukraine. The capital city of Kiev, though to a big extent is surrounded by the Russian invasion, still continues to present what is said to be fortified resistance difficult to overcome so easily.
Following what is being described as a heroic resistance by Zelensky there are reports pointing to the wish of several European countries to see Ukraine admitted to the European Union.
Thousands of Ukrainian refugees continue to arrive in many European countries. Many have been very warmly welcomed in France which is expecting a total of 100.000 individuals.
France is also very actively participating in humanitarian programmes on the field where its advanced war logistics is reported to be substantially helpful to the Ukrainians. This modern logistic backing provided by many European countries, together with the US anti-tank missile, now commonly known as Javelin, have contributed a lot to enable Ukraine to stand firmly to Russia. And this appears to be one of the reasons why Zelensky is categorically rejecting any ultimatum put forward by Russian President Putin.
 G.H.K.

The two Popes (Benedict XVI, seated / Francis, standing) who will preside at the consecration of the warring countries to the Immaculate Heart of Mary requesting for an end to the atrocities and for a return to peace.
The ceremony will take place today at the Vatican. The solemn act will also be an appeal to world order and peace to all countries.
