{UAH} Opposition Has No Mission-President Museveni

President Yoweri Museveni has branded some groups of oppositions in Uganda as those without mission and only after power.

He noted that this is a huge political problem within the country adding that it is not the question of who is to be in power, but what is to be done.

"The problem we have is that many actors (in Opposition) have no mission, they just want power. It is not a question of who is to be in power, but what is to be done," President Museveni noted.

According to President Museveni, NRM has been engaging with some of the opposition party leaders under the Interparty Organization for Dialogue much as some funny group has boycotted.

DP President Norbert Mao backed President's statement saying it is meaningless to demand power without understanding its contours.

"If you want power you must understand its contours. If the goal is to annoy and irritate the one clinging to power then just have an army of Bavumi on social media." Mao argued.

Former Kawempe MP, Mubarak Munyagwa recently said, the opposition under the leadership of Mathias Mpuuga is so weak and unfit to confront NRM in parliament.

"The opposition numbers can't exert enough pressure on parliament. This opposition likes showbiz," Munyagwa said.

The Ex-legislator further revealed that the Leader of the Opposition and other group is only up to amassing wealth for individual benefit but not for the entire opposition.

"When they started the motion censure Muhwezi, a day later, the Leader of Opposition went with 18 MPs to America. Who was going to sign that document?" Munyagwa said.

Munyagwa questioned why Mpuuga and his group have failed to negotiate with the government over the jailed members of the opposition.

A few weeks ago, President Museveni slammed the National Unity Platform party for boycotting IPOD yet at the same time, they want to benefit from the government funding to all political parties represented in parliament.

IPOD, which includes JEEMA, the Democratic Party (DP), the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC), the Uganda People's Congress (UPC), , and the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM), supports vibrant multiparty democracy in Uganda.
