{UAH} Kayihura Runs 21 Kilometers For First Son Muhoozi Who Pleaded With Father To Forgive Him

Former Inspector General of Police (IGP) Gen. Kale Kayihura together with his community in Katebe, Kashagama in Lyantonde District ran a 21-kilometre mini-marathon today to celebrate the UPDF Land Forces Commander Lt. Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba's 48th birthday.

Gen. Kayihura and his team were seen sweating while chanting "songa mbele" covering the hills of Katebe in Lyantonde, Nyabitanga in Ssembabule and Kinoni in Kiruhura District and they are expected to slaughter cows and goats to celebrate the general's life.

"Today 23 April 2022, we the Katebe community ran a mini- marathon (21 kilometers) in the hills of Katebe Katebe in Lyantonde, Nyabitanga in Ssembabule and Kinoni in Kiruhura District in honor of Lt. Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba for the patriotic work he is doing for Uganda and Africa and to celebrate his 48th birthday anniversary,'' Kayihura said.

Today morning, Lt. Gen. Muhoozi flagged off the official birthday marathon at Kololo ceremonial grounds. The marathon was attended by thousands of his fans who have since flocked into Lugogo cricket Oval to party throughout the weekend.

Muhoozi's guests led by President Paul Kagame of Rwanda, ministers, Members of Parliament, clerics, socialites, among others will be treated to a special dinner organised by president Museveni and Janet Museveni at State House Entebbe on Sunday.

It should be remembered that in December last year, the First Son pleaded with his father to forgive Kale Kayihura because he is a great cadre.

"Gen. Kayihura was one of those special cadres in the early 1990s who inspired us to serve our nation. Others were late Generals Mayombo and Kazini. If he made mistakes, let us use revolutionary methods of work to rectify them. I request the CiC to forgive and rehabilitate him," Muhoozi pleaded.

In August 2018, Kayihura was paraded before the Military Court on three charges of; failure to protect war materials, aiding and abetting the kidnap and repatriation of Rwandan refugees in Uganda.

He was released two months later on a Shs. 10 million bond after presenting three sureties were bonded for Shs. 5 million each.

Since then, the former IGP has kept a low profile until recently when he decided to open up a law firm to survive.
