{UAH} Tom Mboya's last sibling dies in California

I'm saddened to share here that we've lost a great Kenyan in California. Pascal Odira Ndiege, the youngest brother of the late Kenyan Independence hero, Tom Mboya, died last evening at his home in Sacramento. He was in his early 70's.

Popularly known simply as OD, Mr. Odira Ndiege had battled multiple cancers for nearly a decade. He battled his condition publicly and with a great dose of honesty, always sharing with his Facebook followers, every progress and setback he went through in the chain of chemo and other specialized treatments.

Odira attracted friends from all walks of life. His home was where Kenyans in Northern California went for "home-made foods." His wife, Mamu, a loving woman of Nubian background, could whip out any dish to satiasfy all tastes, from our matooke to Gikuyu's traditional gintheri.

Odira was in S2 in 1969 when his brother, Tom Mboya was assassinated. He migrated to the US after high school for higher education and remained in US.
