Empanada or hand pie is a type of baked or fried turnover originated in Spain.The filling can be made with fruits or meats and the choices are endless. There is a restaurant that specializes and only serves Empanada where I live; a meal consists of a good size Empanada, a salad and your choice of dipping sauce. Have you ever eaten Empanada?

We love Empanada so besides eating at the restaurant, we also make them at home so we can create and try whatever filling we like. Making Empanada is time-consuming so it's a family affair which everyone pitches in and enjoys the fruit of our labor afterwards.
