{UAH} My experience of Idi Amin's govt

By Apolo

My brother Lubega Stephen had been abducted for dating a girl Maliyamungu was interested in - this was weeks after the cold blooded murder of my uncle Dr. Ssembeguya courtsey of some state research agents.

This culminated into the eventual arrest of my father the late Simon Kambugu on suspicion of being in touch with his brother in-law the late President Paulo MUWANGA, he was later released but closely monitored!

I was once called into the communal shower area of our domitory by a senior army officer's son, who'd begged me to bring him some toilet roll. After making a dump,  he asked me to wipe his large bottom, I stared in horror and threw the toilet roll at him in absolute disgust .

I reported the matter to the head mistress, who tactfully told off the bully .

It was then that I began hanging out with some bold brave boys , we'd look out for each other at all times.

I'll never forget the number of times my fellow students would be abruptly picked up from school without notice, taken home for a few weeks and then returned.

All I remember , they'd be withdrawn after that !

They however had special attention from the nuns at the convent at all times .They were fed well.

They never told us what had happened, it wasn't until after the Liberation war that we found out that their parents had gone missing , snatched by state research burea agents never to be seen again.

I remember Smarts Guweddeko, I think he joined the NRA bush war , don't know where he is or what happened to him .His father was a brilliant pilot .
