{UAH} Obote was the first one to expel non-citizens

Obote was the first one to expel non-citizen and the British passports holders "MOVE TO THE LEFT" in 1968 and others like Kenya followed. Amin completed this exercise through a " _dream_ " inspired action so as to avoid reference to predecessors.

This is often an ignored fact. 

A deeper look into the events then, one will notice that there was a nationalist movement across Africa, Latin America, Caribbean and Asia and this was characterized by

1. Nationalization of properties owned by foreigners — the most popular of these was Abdel Nasser's move to nationalize the Suez Canal chasing British and French out of Egypt in 1956, and this resulted in a war with Egypt (I think all across Africa Nasser is known for this and the naming of Nasser road in Uganda could be related to this)

2. Chasing foreigners out of their countries as part of property repossession this went with nationalization of properties as seen in Brazil, Venezuela, expulsions of Nigerians from Ghana 1969, expulsion of South Africans (white) from Angola, threats to chase Rwandans from Uganda, and Ugandans from Kenya etc

One can say the 1950s up to 1980s were characterized by these policies. The difference is how different leaders handled them
