{UAH} FRANCE LOOKS READY TO RETAIN THE WORLD FOOTBALL CUP
Tomorrow, Sunday 18 December 2022 is the day the entire France has been longing for, and for one great cause : to score a resounding victory over powerful Argentina in order to retain the great world football trophy the country won in 2018 in Moscow. The French team will be facing an already determined Argentina whose key player, Messi, wants to go into retirement with the world cup on his list of achievements. Close to three billion viewers will follow the event on tv and social media coverage. They won't be disappointed at the quality of football the two teams are going to display in Qatar. Both teams are ready to face each other for the great confrontation.
Up to now France has been successfully participating in the tournament without three of her wonderful players, namely Paul Pogba, Ngole Kante, and Karim Benzema. Nevertheless, as all players in the squad are equally very strong, these gabs haven't been so regrettably noticed. France has indeed succeeded to present a very young team full of energetic young players reputedly very intelligent in football. The present team has many advantages over Argentina. It's solid, untiring, calculative, fraternally united as a strongly committed group, and has an excellent player in each position. It's a team which impacts so greatly on the nation's mind. It has in all cases overwhelmingly planted the game in the ambitions of millions of youths to the extent of even seeing that many of them, now leading footballers in league matches, had attained the grade to qualify for selection in the national team. Among them was 19-year-old French Caribbean centre forward who came out as the leading scorer in the entire French football league championship this year. He wasn't selected for Qatar because his team might have preferred to keep him for another different occasion....
So, if France beats Argentina, the team will pocket the 40 million euros FIFA will award to the winner. And each player will in addition get 400.000 euros as a token of sincere gratitude.
The state has helped to provide the squad with a very elegant hotel in Doha at a cost of 4.8 million euros and has provided the possibility of letting each player be accompanied by several members of his family.
The mood all over France is just that of a call for victory, and massive celebrations will get into gear all over the country. Over 14.000 security personnel have been mobilized to ensure order and discipline on Paris's famous Champs-Elysée Avenue where two million people will gather in merry-making in spite of the cold.
World Cup 2022 has revealed many things among which the very popular enthusiasm Africa has shown. The Black continent has been singled out as a place where all matches played have been watched with tremendous interest. Of course, in Doha all African teams which made it did indeed try their best against the best in the world. And predictions are that the World Cup will one day become an African possession given the interest Africa displays on football.Correct, indeed! Dozens of years ago, was there anyone who ever dreamt of a place like mother Uganda producing world champions in athletics? So the same will apply to football in Africa!
Enjoy the match on Sunday!
