{UAH} LONG LIVE UGANDA'S OIL REFINERY!

Saturday's news of a $4.5 billion dollar oil refinery deal between Uganda and a US company is great (see picture attached). The French company TOTAL was going to be the only party benefitting from the country's oil through the controversial EACOP pipeline, and would do so at Uganda's expense. Comparatively, the economics of a refinery truly uplifts Uganda and the region, bringing in technology transfer, ten fold more oil revenues, and at least 80% less environmental damage than Total's serpentine pipeline.
