{UAH} I REALLY HOPE LUKWAGO SURVIVES THIS NIGHTMARE!

I REALLY HOPE LUKWAGO SURVIVES THIS NIGHTMARE!

Friends,

Defamation is the ruining of a person's good reputation. There are two ways to do that: slander and libel.

Slander is a verbal defamation. A false statement said with the intent to defame a person. For instance, a lot of Bobi Wine's supporters produced fake audios and videos, between 2018 and 2020 supporting the idea that Besigye was Museveni's mole. Obviously, they did this with the intention to sell their man, and it effectively worked.

Libel,on the other hand, is a written defamation. A false statement published with the intent to defame a person.

The authenticity of the letter allegedly written by Gen Saleh to Lord Mayor, Erias Lukwago, could only be verified by Gen.Saleh himself;  afterall he isn't dead yet. Proving that its Saleh's handwriting and his signature doesn't necessarily prove that the letter is authentic -- People easily copy stuff like that.

I opinion that Saleh didn't write the letter. Why? Because he isn't that kind of person who publicly accuse people of stuff. Yes, I don't know Saleh on a personal basis, but I have followed him for a while to know that he's good at controlling his emotions(emotional intelligence). As a result, he easily gets on with both his enemies and friends. He can easily make you think that he likes you when he actually doesn't. I've never seen him expressing his anger publicly to anyone. He tries to atleast  respect almost everyone in public, apart from NUP's Lumbuye. His traits would actually make him a very brilliant spy.

That said, it's in Brother Lukwago's best interests  to distance himself from the contents of the said letter immediately. If he doesn't,  then he has no good future in opposition politics.

Words can be so damaging whether true or false, but its important that records are set straight. The false accusations against Lukwago - I see them as false, and I am not the only one, aren't going to go away on their own.

Whether his political career survives this or not, Lukwago is still a useful young man. Those who follow his work, admire his personality and are fans of his legal work, will continue to see the good in him. His work as Lord Mayor,  and one of the FDC leaders, continues to be great. His skills remain undiminished.

And regardless of the Newvision trial's outcome, people know him, People love him. I, personally,  will never judge him in any way, because I know how difficult Uganda politics is.
