{UAH} Why GADHAFI was killed?

In 1981 ( I don't remember the exact date and month) Newsweek Magazine published an article on Muammar Gadhafi. It was the lead article with heading inform off a question: "Gadhafi: the Most Dangerous Man in the World?"

President Ronald had earlier bombed Benghazi City and killed Gadhafi's daughter. 

I was eager to read something factual about Gadhafi because of the bad press about him from the West. What evilness this man that was making him so notorious? Newsweek is a publication of the Washington Post. Of you know the ownership of this powerful news house, you are in no doubt that it could not write in favor of the revolutionary Libyan leader. I was sure it was going to bring out all the dirt about Gadhafi. 

So, I got my copy and read.

1. Since taking power in Libya in 1960s, in a period of 12 years, Gadhafi had put up over 200,000 housing units fully serviced with power and water, and was giving them free to Libyan people, moving them from slmus.

2. He had or was setting up huge departmental stores (Supermarket) and was selling consumer goods to the people at close cost price.

3. Education of all Libyan children was free. So was medical care. 

4. When Gadhafi appeared in any place, work stopped and people danced and clapped to him. People noted that Gsdhafi had found wealth from oil and was sharing it with them. 

I read the article over and over again to see if Gadhafi was killing the Libyan people. Newsweek didn't say so.

The article went to say that Gadhafi was being targeted for elimination by President Reagan in the same way that President Kennedy had regretted Fidel Castro of Cuba Predident Rivhard Nixon Sslvador Allende of Chile. The article noted that only President Nixon had succeeded in eliminating President Allende whom the CIA had replaced with brutal dictstor Agosto Pinochet. The article wondered whether Predident Reagan was going to succeed with Gadhafi.

That is 42 years ago. Gadhafi was killed by the three Western powers, US, France and UK IN 2011.

So, was Gadhafi targeted for his alleged role in the disaster of Pan Am Flight 103 that was criminally brought down over Lockerbie in Scotland in December, 1988?
