DUBAI, December 13. /TASS/. The number of journalists killed in the Gaza Strip since October 7 has climbed to 89, Al Jazeera reported.

According to the Qatari television channel, two media workers were killed on Wednesday as a result of shelling on the enclave.

Earlier, the Gaza Strip’s health ministry said that 18,600 people were killed and nearly 50,600 more injured in the escalation.

Tensions flared up in the Middle East after Hamas militants from the Gaza Strip attacked Israeli territory on October 7, when many Israelis living in the settlements near the border were killed and over 200 people, including children, women and the elderly, were taken hostage. Hamas views its attack as a response to Israeli authorities’ steps against the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem.
