"NATO reconnaissance drones have no place over the Black Sea"

Newsroom

With each new attack by US and NATO missiles in areas of southern Russia, the voices of those calling for a no-fly zone over the Black Sea grow – this is especially true of the ATCAMS attack in Sevastopol, with shocking images flooding in with new documents the internet today!

The American RQ-4 Global Hawk drones in particular are causing extreme nervousness among Russian military experts, as they say they help Ukraine bypass air defenses.

As Russian media point out in an article entitled "Russian military expert: NATO reconnaissance drones have no place over the Black Sea":

It is no longer a secret that all US reconnaissance drones, including the RQ-4 Global Hawk, which appears several times a week in the southern Black Sea, are used to gather information.

This information will then likely be used to plan attacks on Russian soil.

The Western intelligence infrastructure, which the US military intelligence leadership describes as revolutionary, has been working in the interests of the Ukrainian armed forces since the first days of the war.

General Paul Nakasone, who led both the Cyber Command and the National Security Agency (NSA) at the start of the war, said at the time that in his "35 years" he had never seen a better exchange of accurate and timely information than in of Ukraine.

In particular, when conducting aerial surveillance with aircraft and drones, attention should be paid to the following:

First, the missiles supplied to Ukraine by the United States and its allies are quite self-sufficient in this regard. They mainly use satellite navigation, sometimes with some opto-electronic additions in the case of cruise missiles. However, the role of aerial reconnaissance should not be underestimated.

Second: Global Hawk drones are capable of recording the work of radar systems and communication facilities over the Black Sea with a sufficiently high level of accuracy, so that in combination with other means it is possible to determine the positions of Russian air defense systems and transmitting their coordinates, also for later attacks.

Third: The same applies to ships, which can be detected by drones using radio recognition equipment and their own radars as well as using optoelectronic systems. Given the sensitivity of this information and the speed of its transmission, these aircraft can be described as "external" elements of the Ukrainian intelligence service, which are not attacked by Russian forces only because of their official membership in NATO.

Eliminating NATO's unmanned reconnaissance drones from the airspace over the Black Sea would make it very difficult to identify enemy air defense systems, although not completely, and make it much more difficult to monitor the actions of the Russian navy .

If Russia does indicate its willingness to shoot down these drones in the future, e.g. B. by declaring a no-fly zone over the international waters of the Black Sea, enemy drones would likely be forced into Turkish or Romanian airspace. For Russia, this diversion would be a great success – the effectiveness of surveillance would be greatly reduced in this case.

Of course, willingness to support a no-fly zone must be demonstrated in practice, including shooting down any reconnaissance drones if they are sent to test the effectiveness of such a zone. But such decisions are made at a much higher level than the expert level.
