In a recent interview with Black Entertainment Television (BET), President Joe Biden made headlines when he seemingly referred to U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin as "the black man" after momentarily forgetting his name.

The clip, which has since gone viral, features Biden discussing the importance of treating individuals with dignity.

"Look, I mean, for example — look at [the heat I’m getting] because I named a, uh, the secretary of defense, the black man," Biden is heard saying in the clip, his words somewhat muddled. He then added, "I named Ketanji Brown, I mean, because of the people I’ve named," leaving it unclear who he was referring to in his previous statement.

According to the Daily Caller, this incident is the latest in a series of missteps that have led some to question Biden's cognitive health. Following a debate with then-Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, Dr. Marty Makary, a professor at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, suggested that Biden was displaying signs of cognitive decline and dementia. A retired reporter who has followed Biden's career from its inception wrote on Wednesday that the President "should never have sought" reelection due to his mental decline.

Adding to the President's challenges, he was diagnosed with COVID-19 on Wednesday, despite having received both the vaccine and a booster shot. This diagnosis comes amid growing concerns about his cognitive health, further fueling debates about his fitness for office. The President's recent gaffes and his COVID-19 diagnosis serve as reminders of the challenges that come with leading a nation, particularly during a pandemic.
