{UAH} THREE PALESTINIAN TERRORISTS SLIP THROUGH THE SOUTHERN BOARDER
How Did These Palestinian Terrorists Slip Through?
The U.S. Border Patrol has recently detained three individuals of Palestinian origin, suspected of terrorist affiliations, who unlawfully trespassed into the United States via the southern border.
These individuals were part of a larger group of illegal immigrants who infiltrated the country through the San Diego sector.
As reported by The Post Millennial, the Border Patrol is currently grappling with an overwhelming influx of illegal immigrants, particularly in the San Diego sector. The agency's resources are stretched thin, and agents are struggling to adequately identify those who are illicitly crossing the border from various global locations. An anonymous agent expressed frustration, stating, "I wanted to get into Border Patrol and protect from terrorists. And it's like, well, I probably let terrorists into the country."
One of the detained Palestinian suspects was found to have a provocative image on their phone, featuring a masked man brandishing an automatic rifle. The specific terrorist group to which the three suspects are believed to belong remains uncertain. In addition to these suspects, a Turkish immigrant with alleged terrorist connections was also detained in the San Diego sector.
These unlawful entries into the U.S. occurred shortly after the Biden administration introduced new regulations that restrict asylum applications. However, these regulations contain significant loopholes that allow migrants to reenter the country. Border agents rely on U.S. terror watchlists to identify potential threats, but their resources are limited and they lack access to international terror or criminal databases. "Knowing who these guys are, we have, like, no access to anything international," an anonymous agent lamented. "We really don't know." https://x.com/i/status/1817767041895379172
In the wake of the October 7 massacre in Israel, the federal law enforcement agency issued a memo urging Border Patrol agents to be vigilant for potential threats attempting to illegally enter the U.S. from the Middle East. The memo from the San Diego Field Office Intelligence Unit warned that individuals motivated by the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict might attempt to travel to or from the Middle East via indirect routes across the Southwest border.
The memo also included descriptions of patches worn by members of Hamas, Palestinian Islamic Jihad, and the Lebanese terrorist group Hezbollah. This comes at a time when Border Patrol agents are apprehending an unprecedented number of illegal immigrants listed on the terror watchlist.
According to data from the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), the number of individuals on the terror watchlist apprehended at the southern border surged from 26 between fiscal years 2017 and 2020 to 98 in fiscal year 2022, and then to 169 the following year. This significant increase in border crossings during the Biden administration raises serious concerns about national security.
