Israel's War On Hamas Escalates: How The U.S. Stepped In And Is Making Waves in Yemen

In a recent development, the US military has reported the destruction of Houthi drones in Yemen within the last day.

This action is part of an ongoing engagement with the Iran-backed Houthi drones and militia, a conflict that has been escalating over the past few months.

According to Fox News, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) has also neutralized three unmanned Houthi surface vessels off the Yemeni coast. The decision to engage these targets was driven by the imminent threat they posed to US and coalition forces, as well as merchant vessels operating in the region.

"It was determined these weapons presented an imminent threat to U.S., coalition forces, and merchant vessels in the region," CENTCOM stated. "These actions were taken to protect freedom of navigation and make international waters safer and more secure."

The Houthi group, backed by Iran, has been targeting commercial ships in the Mediterranean Sea as a form of protest against Israel's war on Hamas. This has led to a series of confrontations, with the most recent one occurring last week when Israel launched surgical strikes against the Houthis.

This was in response to a lethal drone attack on Tel Aviv by the terror group, which resulted in the death of an Israeli citizen, injuries to at least ten others, and significant damage to buildings.

The attack was notably close to the US consulate building in Tel Aviv.

Israel's Minister of Defense, Yoav Gallant, commented on the situation after the strikes in Yemen. "The fire that is currently burning in Yemen, is seen across the Middle East," he said.

"The first time that the Houthis harmed an Israeli citizen, we struck them. And we will do this in any place where it may be required."
