Whistleblowers Reveal Inexperienced Agent Behind Trump Rally Security Failure!
In a startling revelation, whistleblowers have raised serious concerns about the competence of a Secret Service agent who was in charge of security at former President Trump's rally in Butler, Pennsylvania on July 13.
The event, which was marred by an assassination attempt by gunman Thomas Matthew Crooks, has been the subject of intense scrutiny.
According to The Post Millennial, a letter penned by Senator Josh Hawley's (R-MO) office to Acting USSS Director Ronald Rowe, questions the decision to assign an inexperienced agent to such a high-profile event. The letter quotes a whistleblower as saying, "New whistleblower allegations to my office directly question decisions made by Secret Service's lead site agent principally responsible for securing the July 13 rally in Butler, Pennsylvania."
The senator sent a letter to acting Secret Service Director Ronald Rowe and urged him to suspend the still-active agent. The letter further elaborates on the allegations, stating that the agent in question was known for his lack of competence and experience. "One whistleblower with direct knowledge of the event alleges to my office that this lead site agent was well-known in campaign circles as lacking competence and experience in the role," the letter reads. It also mentions that the agent was new to the local field office and had relatively little experience.
Another whistleblower, as per the letter, accused the lead agent of making poor decisions that compromised the overall security of the event. The letter cites an example of such a decision, "Campaign material such as flags were permitted to be placed around the stage and catwalk used by the former president, despite the fact that these items were typically prohibited because of how they affected the line-of-sight of those agents responsible for identifying threats."
The whistleblowers also claimed that the USSS did not verify IDs when issuing credentials for access to the restricted area of the rally. This lax security measure was a point of contention during a recent hearing where Senator Hawley expressed his frustration over the lack of accountability within the USSS. "What more do you need to investigate to know that there were critical enough failures that some individuals ought to be held accountable?" Hawley questioned.
In his letter, Senator Hawley urged Acting Director Rowe to suspend the lead site agent immediately pending an investigation into these claims. "I urge you to suspend the lead site agent from all Secret Service duties immediately while these claims are investigated," Hawley wrote, highlighting the need for accountability and a thorough investigation into the security lapses that potentially endangered the life of the former President.
