I went to National Bank of Malawi today to buy ONLY 1,000 USD cash since I am travelling soon. They said they don't have. They could not even give me a meagre 200 USD. What an absolute joke!

On the contrary, a certain friend of mine moved from National Bank to another bank. He has been asking me to move too but I said I love National Bank and have been with them for over 10 years. He is out of the country now but when he went to his new bank last week within 30 minutes, he got 1,000 USD.

I cannot believe that the whole of National Bank don't have 1,000 USD or even a few hundred dollars. I am a loyal customer of National Bank. I have over 5 accounts that I sign to with the bank including ALL my business accounts. I keep millions and bring in millions to the bank but they can't give me 1,000 USD? 

Now I must be forced to access the foreign currency on the black market of which the airport police won't allow access!

Yes, the card may be activated for use but one needs cash as well as networks cannot be perfect. The world is not completely cashless. 

Maybe it's time for me too to switch banks because this is very HORRIBLE and BACKWARDS of National Bank and they need to treat their loyal customers fairly. We can't just sit here, make money for you, and not get help when we need it. 

National Bank you must do better!
