{UAH} About Uganda mayors

Kampala may want to follow Nairobi by giving its Mayor a title with power and authority.

There are apparently several Mayors in Uganda which has made the title ridiculous. Even my once small trading centre now upgraded to Town Council now has a Mayor. Instead Trading Centers are no more.

Nairobi ceased to have a Mayor in August 2011 replacing it with Governor of Nairobi. Which is far befitting bcos Nairobi has a diverse population and most especially, a global outlook implying a high level of international culture and influence within its residents than Kampala let alone Nairobi has far developed infrastructure than Kampala.

Ever known that Kampala is not even a metropolitan and remains simply a city while Nairobi has passed city and metropolitan statuses to become cosmopolitan?

Nairobi is 696 Sq km with widest point 22km. stretching from Kenyatta National Hospital in the south to UN hqs. in Gigiri - the distance from Kampala to Mukono. Kampala on the other hand is 180 sq km

For Kampala to become metropolitan it must cease to be a single urbanized area with its local government and encompass Kampala city along with its surrounding towns with strong economic and social ties to the city, thus metropolitan. 

Make Mukono a part or surburb under Kampala admin to upgrade Kampala at least to metropolitan

And, now you know why Kampala has stunted growth, is perennially dusty and prone to floods. There is no impetus or force for its development and growth.
