{UAH} Is Donald Trump correct when he says Canada is a bad trading partner?

I watched Trump during his first residency in the White House, his next four years of rallies and now his second arrival in the White House. I came to realize that he is rarely right on any issue. He's certainly not right on trade.

Let's admit at this point that the US does, indeed, import more dollars worth of good from Canada than it ships. The numbers that I found on a US government site shows the US selling $356.5 billion dollars worth of goods to Canada and Canada selling $436.6 billion to the States.

But let's take a look at the size of each market. The USA has 8.3 times the population of Canada and that equates to 8.3 times the need. Given the disparity in size, the trade figures are closer than you might expect.

But let's show how the difference in population works out in purchases per capita. On that basis, the USA purchase $1286 per American citizen. Canada, on the other hand, buys $8247 of American goods per Canadian resident. On a per capita basis, the USA is not purchasing at the same level as Canada. Does that make Canada a bad trading partner?
