{UAH} USAID cuts doesn't affect the only African countries
For all the peanut-sized ostrich brains like Mulindwa, I gotta expound a bit more on USAID
USAID cuts doesn't affect only Africa and rest of third world as you may want to think. All - and I emphasize- all developed countries have been beneficiaries of USAID. Even the Vatican, and before you say "No way ...!" on the Vatican, think Caritas.
It's not only those that receive direct assistance from USAID that are or will be affected by 100% global charirty NGO's will go under. The buld of their funds come from USAID. Ind aid distribution is outsourced to them by USAID.
And you may not want to agree that the biggest receiving country of USAID hasn't been Kagutastan but - get ready - the UK.
Even more shocking is that Russia has been a beneficiary of USAID. USAID-funded Rule of Law implementers helped draft the Russian Constitution, Part I of the Russian Civil Code, and the Russian Tax Code. USAID assistance led directly to the adoption of the 2001 Land Code which provided the right to buy, sell, and own urban and rural land in Russia.
Or, some of you Baboons may want to belive that developed countries don't receive aid. They do. The countries receiving the most were Great Britain ($3.3 billion), France ($2.3 billion) and West Germany ($1.4 billion).
The UK should reflect on the fact that it has been a substantial recipient of aid. This may fit well with the Prime Minister and Foreign Secretary's commitment to listen more to partners. It may also help to counter the view that supporting UK interests should only mean action at home; and to show that current aid recipients can be tomorrow's trade and security partners
Amd, what about economic archenemy, China? This too, has been receiving USAID assistance
In 2003 China received US$1.3 billion in aid, or about US$1 per capita. Like other countries in recent years, the United States has rapidly reduced its aid to China, reaching about $12 million from USAID for 2011. The aid goes to Tibetan communities, rule of law initiatives, and climate change policy.
What we have been receiving in Kagutastan is pocket change compared to mega recipients such as UK, Germany, etc
My Gisu ex wrote to me a couple days ago that they haven't been paid for 2 months now. But here is the twist to her job. She is an a full-time employee of the Ministry of Health but paid by USAID in US$ running a USAID-funded health program. She almost has no office on the ground at the MOH bcos she is always on the.road with no cave in Uganda that she hasn't been to on USAID health programs. Each time she traded to K'moja one would think it's one of the usual Generals or minister bcos of her heavily armed police and military convoy.
Right now, she is one of those fired by the Convicted Felon.
Below is a Canadian organizations gnashing its teeth from the cold murder of USAID
