{UAH} Vice President of Equatorial Guinea Teodoro Nguema Obiang landed in New York in his tastefully customized Boeing 777.

The corrupt  Vice President of Equatorial Guinea Teodoro Nguema Obiang  landed in New York in his  tastefully customized Boeing 777. He is representing his father President  Teodoro Nguema Mbasogo at the UN General Assembly. 

Teddy as he is known used to own a $30m mansion in Malibu California , a number of Ferrari cars  and Michael  Jackson's  $275,000 crystal-covered glove which the late singer had worn on his 1980s Bad tour. These were seized in 2014 by US authorities on grounds that they were  bought with the proceeds of corruption.

In 2016, Switzerland seized 11 luxury cars belonging to him. The cars included a Bugatti, Lamborghinis, Ferraris, Bentleys and Rolls Royce, which were all  sold at an auction for about $27m.

In 2021, France confiscated his assets which included the luxurious Avenue Foch building in Paris with an estimated value well above €100 million. A Paris court also fined and handed him a suspended sentence  for using public money to fund a luxurious lifestyle in France. 

In 2023, South African authorities seized a superyacht and two palatial homes he owned in Cape Town. 

The Nguema  family has long been accused of seeing the  oil-rich Equatorial Guinea as their personal fiefdom, and of abusing its wealth and resources.
