[UAH] The Project Manager of the National IDs Project is Bwesigye Kyamutetera while the minister is Aronda. Westerners are everywhere!

In March 2010, the Government contracted Muhlbauer Technology, a German firm at about sh230.9b to supply technology and other related services for the national IDs Project.That project stalled amid allegations of graft. Last year the Ministry of Defence took up the stalled project only to reject it later because of lack of funds.

Now under the Ministry of Internal Affairs,the national ids project needs about 205 billion shillings in order to register at least 18million Ugandans from the age of 16 and issue them with national ID cards.The Project Manager of the National IDs Project is Marcellino Bwesigye Kyamutetera

Officials from the Ministry of Internal Affairs have expressed certainty that Ugandans will have their National Identity Cards ready by February 2016. Preparations are already on to have a security printing facility established by this September to have at least 30,000 cards printed per day. The ministry is also expecting to receive 28 billion shillings to facilitate the processes in the next financial year.
