For some time now we have had a labor issue between the union representing foreign workers and The Treasury Board, for the last three months about 1,000 employees in our embassies  out there, have been on strike. Be informed that the union decided to go after major embassies as from this yesterday Monday, and it is targeting specifically visa issuing officers. The statement I got this morning from the union states that The Professional Association of Foreign Service Officers was going to expand its effect of strike by withdrawing its services at the 15 largest visa-processing centers in Canadian foreign missions. And note that on Friday I knew they were targeting three of such major centers but from Monday yesterday,  be  informed that  they started to target 15 of such. 

 

For some reason because we have a Conservative government, this is not making news and I have a problem knowing exactly what 15 embassies have been affected by today, but I know that  services have been withdrawn from Beijing, Mexico City, New Delhi, London, Paris, Abu Dhabi and Shanghai embassies. These embassies are major centers if you need a visa to come to this country,  and we have several people stranded in airports due to this labor issue. Although I have listed those embassies be informed that by the union we have 15 affected  so I do not know what embassy you suck from,  so if you need a visa or any embassy services to Canada, kindly call before you fly into the country to get the services.

 

This is affecting a whole lot of people and why it is not news in this city I have no clue.                  But what else is new?
