Former president Nelson Mandela was "looking good" when he visited him this week and was able to smile, abaThembu king Buyelekhaya Dalindyebo has said.
Mandela has spent 33 days in the Medi-Clinic Heart Hospital in Pretoria with a recurring lung infection.
Dalindyebo visited him yesterday.
After the visit, Dalindyebo was seen hugging Winnie Madikizela-Mandela and then opening her car door.
Yesterday, while handing over a memorandum at the Union Buildings, he said: "Madiba is looking good according to me and he has not been talking. But I got some good gestures from him. He is able to smile. I did get that little smile from his face which I appreciated very much. It was a blessing to me," said Dalindyebo.
He added the Mandela family was "fed up" with Mandela's grandson and heir to the Mvezo chieftancy, Mandla, and that it was only a matter of time before Mandla was stripped of his chieftaincy.
"Mandla has been out of order. So the family is very much fed up with him. I am not only judging him as an individual. He is judged by the (Mandela) family, by abaThembu at large and the amaDlomo clan," said Dalindyebo.
