{UAH} How teacher killed my son with canes: brutes in classrooms
Folks;
Here is a shinning example of how brutal our classrooms have become.
This teacher, immobilising a pupil with his foot in order to exert maximum pain, should be cooling off in prison. How can parents protect their children from such brutal teachers? Put another way: what does the teachers' employer - government or private investor - do to protect our children from classroom violence at the hands of the teaching staff?
Not long ago, somewhere in Kabale, a teacher was lynched for brutalizing a pupil like in this incident. While that is not a solution, obviously, I would understand the frustration and anger of the parents who took it upon themselves to avenge the pain inflicted on their young ones.
Teachers' Union must be held accountable for teacher indiscipline. And when a teacher's misconduct crosses the line, from corrective discplinary action to sheer violence like here, the Union must move to expel the teacher and even disqualify him from further teaching.
I expect the government must step in and institute prosecution in this case. Teachers may be frustrated with their professional lives; but that is not an excuse to take their frustrations on our children.
