{UAH} Meet The Youngest NRM/UNAA Leader On The Block........THE FUTURE IS NOW!!!
Ms Zaffoni,
1. during our presidential debate, Brian (who headed the Dallas local organizing committee) agreed with me that we don't need the donation from Kla in order to run a successful convention. In fact he suggested that he'd use that money to fund an education program that Brian wants to set up!
2. I am glad more members are asking questions...in the past, it was just a handful of people that would ask questions and it was easy for the leaders to ignore us...with more voices, Jude Sempungu and Aisha Ogwang will be kept on their toes. For the past several years, I've NEVER gotten response to my inquiries regarding financial documents. In fact, before I run for office, I'd never gotten a response from any UNAA Secretary (or Treasurer).
3. people are going to claim that the donation from Kla subsidized our food...but they may not tell us what our convention charges paid for (an average of $270 per person). Why isn't $270 enough to pay for the food? How much was the lunch for Saturday (per person)? How much was the dinner for Sunday (per person)?
keep in mind that normally, about 70% of "UNAA money" goes to food...I am calling it "UNAA money" but it is actually part of the convention fee we pay, so it OUR money.

4. the unreported donation from Kla is just a tip on the iceberg...others include $20,000 for "hotel attrition" (really!)? and $25,000 for hotel rooms in 2010 (unaa gets a certain number of free rooms if we book a certain number of rooms and unaa officials stay in those free rooms)...so WHO did unaa accommodate in DC for $25k...then there is paltry $1k in cash that Mr Nekyon said was collected/charged for ALL the folks that paid CASH in at the convention in DC, etc
5. Mr Kalanzi, I normally don't comment about stuff like quality of food but since you asked, I can tell you that the dinner on Sunday was good...but the lunch on Saturday was terrible. I am going to ask Becky, my Council representative, to send me a copy of the budget. I am curious to know what I paid for the food.

I will comment some more on the NRM-UNAA relationship and monies.
What we seem to be missing here is the fact that NRM or government has been giving monies to UNAA since way back and it was not clear until when the conventions were taken away from the local chapters in 2007!
Now going forward, UNAA has not only denied the receiving of those funds for all those years until I'm being told 2012 when they listed it as a Gift in the amount of $15,000...
Members, it's one thing to get a commission off the government's Gift as it's being referred too but to totally deny its existence for all those years leaves a very poor taste in most of our .... And the diminutive trust goes out of the vent especially when those involved in the past UNAA dealings are still working inside UNAA in the rear of the scenes or become BOT by default!
What people have we been dealing with or still deal with? And I'm not talking about the most recent past executives of 2012 because they at least highlighted the so called GIFT less $5000 but the ones before Ssenoga's reign!
Where did those monies go and to whom was the check written? Do you evoke San Francisco when a commission check was written to some corporation not UNAA? To date, no one knows precisely who the owner of that corporation was but It so happens that onee of the UNAA executives at that time was a part owner of the company which received the check! What a shame!!
UNAA can not be mourning debts every year when there is money being received used for who knows what without the members knowing about it.
I applaud Kwesiga whose interview helped us to know that YES UNAA receives at least $20,000 every convention and I hope that as the newly elected youngest president, he and his team will help the members get most of these questions answered and start a new trend where everything is in the open.
Cheers for now.

Mw Kamugisha,
Ibrahim Nganda's article in The Observer and the New Vision article, both reference the fact that the NRM has done well in UNAA and both mention that Ofono Opwondo was gloating over the NRM performance in the diaspora and finally, both articles reflect on the money that the government of Uganda gives to UNAA.

Mw. Musoke:You also suggested that both articles from the Observer by Nganda and New Vision, the Ugandan owned paper had similar stories. Mine was to correct that error.

Tim, Patrick and Joseph,
My email was in response to Harriet's regarding the missing info on the donation from the government of Uganda over the past several years (though UNAA started getting the 20k before the 2007 convention in San Francisco, Harriet thought it began in 2007).
I limited my response to the fact that the financial reports were misleading/inaccurate and that I had never seen the donation reflected in the "financial report"...the exception being last year's report, but even then, I only saw $15,000. The other $5k is not reflected in the report. Keep in mind that Brian recently suggested that UNAA should audit prior finances too...and I agree with him (hopefully UNAA will request several US-based Ugandan auditors to do the work for free, with each auditor volunteering to audit one year).
If I was wrong, please let me know how I can see those figures in the reports for the other years. It is possible I could have missed them.
thanksp.s sorry I am responding to this late...these days, I only read UNAA emails when someone tells me there is something to respond to.

Very well said Patrick. The mission is to challenge and change the status quo. To continuously improve upon what we found in place. May we always understand that the only constant in life is change and that the race to excellence has no finishing line.
Like on any other mission the path to the goal may need to be regularly navigated and if all one sees are obstacles like constant debt, procrastination, poor leadership and poor planning it is only because one has lost sight of the goal - a vibrant and relevant UNAA.

NB: Nganda wrote his article based on hearsay. He was in New Jersey, while the two New Vision journalists were on ground. That's the main difference. Read on;Moses:I really don't know where your beef is coming from in regards to labeling me an "NRM spy...!" But i will leave that assertion to torment you until you want no more. However, here below is the portion of Nganda's submission that i have a problem with. Please, follow me as we break it down some of Nganda's charges in the italics here below;"....In Dallas, Texas, meanwhile, NRM leaders were in celebratory mood having taken over the Uganda North American Association (UNAA) conference. = I was the first to break news on this and other forums concerning the possible Hijacking of UNAA by the NRM, IF Brian Kwesiga, was to win the recent elections. Much as the delegation from Kampala, the Ugandan Embassy exceeded the number of delegates we have had in the recent conventions, still, i did not see any "Celebratory mood.." by any of the dignitaries from Kampala or from anywhere else, not even in the ballroom where i was until the Vice President left, shortly after 12:00amThe executive director of the Uganda Media Centre, Ofwono Opondo, even announced that the anger [against the NRM] among those living in the Diaspora had died down. = Ofwono Opondo, was denied access to say anything during the fully jammed the Political forum on Sunday evening. I was one of the assistants in that forum. When and where he might have said what Nganda says that Opondo, said, is any ones guess. Can Nganda, tell us where the alleged remarks were made from? Dallas, is possibly next to Boston when it comes to the NRM antagonists. Was that why Opondo, came with almost fifty State House staff members to "silence the anger!?"I am told that State House alone sponsored about 50 delegates to UNAA and contributed over $50,000. = Who received and where was the $50.000 deposited? We have a newly elected Treasurer, his name is Mr. Jude Ssempungu, a very upright man. Am sure he would be happy to know about the said "Contribution" IF Nganda, could also be gracious by furnishing more evidence. It is not surprising that a panel discussion that comprised Maj Gen Mugisha Muntu, Muwanga Kivumbi, Jack Wamai and Ruhakana Rugunda was restricted to answering questions set by the organizers = A big fat lie from the pit of HELL! The panelists consisted of all political parties from Uganda with the exception of UPC and the Progressive parties which did not send representatives. The moderators, who were Dallas based scholars, strictly took and effectively had the the debate under control. They composed the questions without any external or internal interference, they asked the questions and each member of the panel who were more than ten of them, were each given two minutes to answer the questions, with one minute to follow up as a rebuttal to their opponents. The audience was also given a chance to ask questions. The organizers had absolutely nothing to do with the questions or answers. I was one of the Dallas COC organizers, so i can confidently dismiss and speak against that false charge."...In Dallas, Texas, meanwhile, NRM leaders were in celebratory mood having taken over the Uganda North American Association (UNAA) conference. Ssemujju Nganda.NB: I have contacts of the two very respectable members of our Dallas community who were in charge of that debate, you can independently verify with them if you so wish. What i have highlighted above is the TRUTH and nothing but the TRUTH. Anything else, including your malicious charges are sparks from hell. BTW, it is not true that i have not been seen openly condemning the Kampala regime for its atrocities and misrule. Harrietplease don't get fooled by the financial reports...e,g most of the reports do NOT mention the gift from the government of Ug...not even the report for 2007 where there was a protracted fight between UNAA and the local organizing committee in San Francisco...the 20k from Kla went to UNAA but the local organizing committee kept asking for it! Where the gift is mentioned (only in the 2012 financial report), the amount reported is 15k...but it doesn't mention who earned the 5k...one would think that the person who earned the 5k would be listed in the expense column!thanksp.s I didn't see any difference between the New Vision article and Ibrahim Nganda's article...i.e regarding UNAA.For a faster response please contact me at 415.789.6427From: "hzaffoni@gmail.com" <hzaffoni@gmail.com>

Hahaha this is funny! In the recent accounts presented by UNAA, there was no mention of the $20,000 being contributed each year!I thought this was just a rumor with no grounds! So it's clear now that NRM has been giving money to UNAA since 2007...Why not share that with the public as there is nothing wrong with it!LMAO.Cheers--On Thu, Sep 12, 2013 at 8:46 PM, Joseph Kamugisha <yesu_nimurungi2004@yahoo.com> wrote:
