{UAH} Professionalism and character should guide opposition to NRM
At The Hague conference of November 28-30, 2013, there was consensus that professionalism and character or integrity should guide our work as we struggle to make things better in Uganda. We should not do exactly what we are criticizing the NRM government for – lack of transparency, participation, accountability and above all corruption and sectarianism. We should assign responsibility according to expertise and experience and work should be done in a transparent manner. That is why during The Hague conference everyone introduced self giving real names, profession and the purpose of attending the conference. We therefore got an idea of who can do what.
At the end of the conference we agreed on the areas of focus and that respective focal points at home and in the diaspora should be identified on the basis of expertise and experience. We also agreed to minimize hierarchical arrangements that create rigidities that stifle efficiency. We adopted a resolution. The London Evening Post published the proceedings for transparency and record and we thank Dr. Henry Gombya and his assistant for an excellent job.
As we assign responsibilities including for organizing the next meeting we should keep in mind our professions and accumulated experience and avoid assigning work to wrong hands. We have embarked on a new path to draw up a road map to reject, eject Musevenism and restore democracy and good governance to Uganda. Let us do it well. The world is watching.
