{UAH} Col. Besigye mourns committed activist

PEGGY, ANOTHER FRONTLINE ACTIVIST DIES:

This morning at about 8.30 am, Ms Peggy Ntegyereize, popularly known
as PEGGY, or sometimes, Mama FDC, passed away at Nsambya Hospital.

She has been unwell for some months suffering from Diabetes that got
complicated by other medical conditions.

Before she became ill, she run the popular African Foods Restaurant
known as ADVENTURE; located near Fairway Hotel.

Peggy was an astute business lady. She was among the first people to
do import business from Dubai. She had several large shops in Kampala
and developed a large real estate in Bunga.

In 2001, she became actively involved in the "Reform Now" Campaigns
and the "Elect Kizza-Besigye Task Force". Since then, she has been an
activist of the Political Opposition. Since FDC was formed in 2024,
she has been a very committed and activist member.

Peggy's political activism transcended party lines. She joined and/or
supported any cause that was just and for the common good.

As a result of the political choices she made, her businesses were
targeted by NRM regime agents and attacked directly or undermined.
Uganda Revenue Authority ceased her goods several times until she gave
up the import business.

Her Health Club and Restaurant in Bunga was undermined by Security
Agents who camped there and intimidated her customers. This was also
the case in her last business, the ADVENTURE Restaurant.

By the time of her death, she had lost everything she worked very hard
for. However, she remained very strong in her beliefs and in her
Activism for Change in Uganda.

Lately, she has been featuring on the Ntv program of Zungululu; where
she's shown confronting the Police terrorist Sam Omara.

It's very sad that she, like several of our other activists in recent
times, has passed away without realising the results of her effort.

This continues to motivate those of us still living to work even
harder to ensure that our colleagues' effort is not in vain. We shall
not rest until Uganda is free and justly managed according to the will
of our people.

We shall overcome; SOME DAY!!

Peggy, Rest in peace and God bless your soul.
