The DDT residual spray method of fighting Malaria, is not only in conflict with Articles 22, 39 and 245 of the Constitution but the program has equally not met the World Healthy Program (WHO) and Stockholm Convention requirements as articulated by NEMA. when NEMA was reporting the concerns of WHO and the Stockholm Convention, it stated that there are a few occasions when the use of DDT in the fight against malaria, may be allowed when safe affected and affordable alternative are not locally available in a given Country.
However, that Country must practically demonstrate that there are no alternative to work in place of DDT. with reference to that report, Uganda has not even met one tenth of those requirements. Uganda has alternatives to DDT.
