Miss Tanzania leads fund raising gala in Morogoro

Reigning Miss Tanzania Happiness Watimanywa led successful fundraising event for Morogoro Regional Hospital over the weekend.

The event involved workers of Universal Leaf company. Watimanywa said the money would be used to buy clothes and shoes for nursing staff of the hospital. A total of 2.85m/- was collected and the sum exceeded the pre-set target of 1.5m/-.
Chairman of the organizing committee Mossi Makau said the fundraising event was part of their efforts to give back to the people around them.

"The money raised here is from individual employees themselves and not from the company's coffers, and would be used to buy various materials that will help improve the working environment at the hospital," he said.
"We are part of the community of Morogoro and we feel obliged to help in whichever way possible, like we have done today," said Gabriel Thobias, an official of the firm.
