{UAH} South Sudan 'Minister Spills Secrets of Juba Massacres'

The Deputy Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Rachel Nyadak Paul has admitted that Nuer civilians were killed in broad daylight in Juba on 16-12-2013. The Minister publicly admitted at a rally held at Jabel Dinka and her admission was broadcast on SSTV Sunday 16-3-2014. This is the first time for a Nuer Minister serving in Kiir’s government to openly do so. The purpose of the rally was to urge and encourage the survivors of December Masscare taking refuge at UNMISS camps to return to thier homes. However, on the 5th March 2014, following renewed clashes at Giada between loyalist forces and units loyal to SPLM/SPLA in Opposition, over 35 Nuer civilians who had returned to their homes after responding to calls made by the same minister were gunned down by security forces at home and while fleeing to UNMISS Camps. The bodies of these victims are still lying at Juba Teaching hospital Mortuary with no one willing to bury them as relatives fear to claim thier bodies for fear of being targetted themselves. With the onset of rainy season and ongoing outbreak of Measles, the SPLM/SPLA in Opposition urges the UN to consider relocating the most vulnerable groups of December 2013 Juba Masscare to safer place preferably outside South Sudan.
