{UAH} Ethiopia and Kenya dominate Paris Marathon

Yesterday, Sunday April 6, 2014 was the day for the big annual Parisian event,
that's the famous Paris Marathon which this year attracted 40783 runners from all over the globe. An estimated two million people lined the streets to cheer the runners. As usual it came out that the East Africans enjoyed their crown share when
they won both the men's and women's events in this thirty-sixth prestigious edition.
The men's marathon was won by Ethiopia's Kenenisa Bekele in 2h 05mns 04s, a time which places him 6 seconds ahead of Kenyan Stanley Biwott's 2012 record for the event. Bekele crossed the line in a rain of confettis showered on him by thousands of cheerful admirers. Next to him was fellow countryman Coretachew in
2h 06mns 49s, then Kenya's Luka Kanda was third in 2h 08mn 48s.
The Africans took the first nine places.
The scenario was more of a repetition in the women's event where Kenya's Cheyech took first place in 2h 22mn 44s, followed by Melese ( Eth) 2h 26mn 21s
and another Ethiopian, Zemzem was third with 2h 29mn 35s
