The writer here is a young lawyer, a legislator and candidate for secretary-general of ODM. He's obviously an erudite man.

My beef with this piece is that it's too academic: he is curling quotes from ancient times to buttress his argument. I wonder how many readers of this newspaper are vaguely familiar with the authors being quoted here!

In politics - and this where I see Hon. Namwamba's major weakness - the most effective manner of communication is to employ the language of the most common voter. Using pompous, scholarly oration like this betrays your understanding of your target readership and voter base.

In this piece, one has to read through three-quarters of the article to get to his point!
