{UAH} COL. DR. KIZZA BESIGYE VS AMAMA MBABAZI
In 1999, Col. Besigye authored a scathing statement accusing the then NRA/M Government of having diverted from its original principles in serving the Citizens of Uganda. Sooner than later, the belligerent Colonel was thrown out of Cabinet in a swift lack of tolerance to dissenting views.
The Rukungiri born Colonel then joined the Presidential fray in 2001. Quite memorable, the former Prime Minister now turned ordinary Ugandan teased the then young Colonel as having jumped the queue! His chicky joke seemed as though he had an idea of those in waiting. Maybe. He can answer the question now perhaps.
Col. Besigye often told (and still) his fellow NRM historicals & Cadres that they will be used but when their flare is up, they can only fall off like dry branches. The brilliant grey haired Lawyer in Amama Mbabazi fell short in picking grain in Col Besigye's counsel & remained in the fold unleashing all sorts of machinations.
So if I may make a conclusion, hasn't Dr. Besigye proved that he is wiser, long-sighted & politically more mature than many of his former colleagues who are facing consequences of shame that they could have prevented earlier?
All the same, these are my personal views & imaginations. Hope the former Prime Minister is a happy Man! Afande Besigye will go down in the books of history as a winner! That guy is bright!
