{UAH} Housing Facilities in Kitgum, Atiak, Hoima, Koboko, Gulu -

Forumists

Let us think about it - the diasporas can get this money and invest big time. Do you how many rich men and women are in Atiak, Koboko and Malaba?

I have done some surveyor on housing; a modest 3 room and kitchen house goes for between 25 – 30 million Uganda shillings.

Building these residences in big numbers will push cost down. Of course Kamonkoli Clays will make some money too as local metal fabricators, masonry, carpenters, plumbers and electricians- jobless Uganda indeed.

See this too, these houses can be turned into mixed housing; i.e. into one, two, three to four room 3-4 floor flat houses. In each town council above if we consider appropriate geometry you will need 250 dwellings per location. Strict not more than that.

Each town or municipal council can have four each i.e. 1000 dwellings scattered in the; North, South, East and West of each town. That amounts to a mere 4000 units per town.

Then town and municipal councils, can lease them out at 25- 50 million on a 25 years tenancy agreement considering flat size. Implying a tenant will part with a maximum of 2'000'000 shs per year (166'666 shs per month) with some 2% (0.02) interest rate.

many Ugandans can afford 150'000 per month by selling agro produce and modernity will have landed in Uganda big time. Then children  can have education channels, in their bed rooms etc.
