{UAH} UGANDA POLICE FORCE (1906-2006)

I enjoyed a full day cerebration by Uganda Police Force and crime presenters on Friday last week at Kololo Independence Grounds.

They, in addition to massive and rapid promotions of 4,000 officers and men and women, they also awarded National Independence Medals to the Commander in Chief, present and former Inspectors General of Police, among others.

But may be they forgot former and present Internal Affairs Minister especially Oboth Ofumbi and at kleast Dr. Paul Ssemogerere who at a political level, oversaw the screening of this police force in 1986.

But it was a colorful day and by the way UPDF has a reserve force of two million plus, but Uganda Police Force , which is turning into a community

While Uganda Police Force or Uganda Protection Police Force started on 25th May 1906 which is properly documented, then what do we say about the history of the army?

Do we take IBEA army under Capt. Fred Lugard that stationed at Kampala Hill in December 1890 or we revised to the days of Sir Samuel Baker and this same army that had a Fort at Patiko near Gulu before? Should we take the Ekitongole EKijaasi ( the fist standing army in Buganda) under Kabaka Mwanga ll or Abarusura (Bunyoro's first standing army under Kabaleega)?
