{UAH} WE NEED A LEADERSHIP FROM PRESIDENT OBAMA ON EBOLA AND ABOUT TODAY

Friends

I have stated over and over that president Obama needs to show leadership for right now he is not being helpful at all, and yes he has not been helpful from get go but this is concerning people’s lives my God is he this naïve? The man stood up and told Africans that Ebola is fine for you never get it out of a bus or a plane. He actually told Africans that life must continue to run as usual. Well Mr. President we have started to get major universities in your own God damn country rejecting students out of specific countries. Is Ebola an okay in Africa but not in United States? Is it too much for those of us to ask for leadership from you sir?

And I am just firkin asking !!!!!!!!!

A Texas college is denying admission to applicants from countries with confirmed Ebola cases, even if those nations have no current cases of the dreaded disease.

Idris Ayodeji Bello, an advocate for Africans in the United States, took to Twitter on Sunday to circulate a letter from Navarro College in Corsicana sent to at least two Nigerian students who applied to the college stating  "is not accepting international students from countries with confirmed Ebola cases," CNBC reported.

"Although you may be disappointed, my personal wish is that you find fulfillment studying at another fine college," reads the letter, penned by Elizabeth Pillans, director of international programs at Navarro.

The college is roughly an hour south of Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital, where Thomas Eric Duncan was treated for Ebola and died Oct. 8. Two hospital workers have tested positive for the disease.

Bello, a Nigerian, pointed out that Nigeria currently has no current case of Ebola. A man died from the disease July 25 in Lagos, Nigeria, but those exposed to him are no longer at risk as of Sept. 26, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

"Even though Nigeria has no current case of Ebola, a U.S. college is denying admission to Nigerians on that basis," Bello tweeted with a watermarked photo of the letter.

Kamorudeen Abidogun, a Texas man originally from Nigeria, told CNBC he received two letters from Navarro College informing him that some of his relatives applying to the college would not be admitted.

"I received, last weekend, two rejection letters...saying the reason why they were not giving admission was...Ebola," Abidogun, a mechanical engineer, said, adding he is "disappointed" in the school's policy.

Pillan, the school's international director, posted the following statement Tuesday on the college's website:

"Our college values its diverse population of international students. This fall we have almost 100 students from Africa. Unfortunately, some students received incorrect information regarding their applications to the institution. As part of our new honor's program, the college restructured the international department to include focused recruitment from certain countries each year. Our focus for 2014-15 is on China and Indonesia. Other countries will be identified and recruitment efforts put in place once we launch our new honors program fall 2015. We apologize for any misinformation that may have been shared with students. Additional information regarding our progress with this new initiative will be posted on our website."

The CDC has issued recommendations to colleges and universities on how to handle Ebola and take caution when admitting students from areas affected by the disease, but has not banned the practice outright.

One media outlet, The Daily Beast, accused the college of perpetuating "Ebola racism."

Navarro isn't the only school in Texas taking precautions regarding Ebola. Abilene Independent School District is asking students "if they traveled to any of the at-risk coutnries that the CDC has identified as being at risk for Ebola," Phil Ashby, the district's director communications, told KTXS.
